Qualifications
- MDOE Technician III Certification (or eligible)
- Relevant education, credentials, and work experience
- Experience working with students in school setting
- Background in literacy education
- Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Strong initiative and willingness to work independently and also as part of a team
- Able to work and communicate effectively with students, and teachers
- Cooperative, patient, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with individuals or small groups of students to provide instructional and assessment support under the general guidance of the teacher/literacy specialist.
- Consult with the supervising teacher and create/carry out lesson plans independently.
- Conduct, record and summarize student observations and progress as directed.
- Ensure a safe learning environment through application of school rules and expectations, as well as, policies established by Waterville Public Schools.
- Exhibit a positive professional attitude with supervisors, co-workers and students.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student and employee-related information.
- Perform additional tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
