Grade levels: Albert S. Hall School (4-5)

Qualifications

  • MDOE Technician III Certification (or eligible)
  • Relevant education, credentials, and work experience
  • Experience working with students in school setting
  • Background in literacy education
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong initiative and willingness to work independently and also as part of a team
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with students, and teachers
  • Cooperative, patient, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals or small groups of students to provide instructional and assessment support under the general guidance of the teacher/literacy specialist.
  • Consult with the supervising teacher and create/carry out lesson plans independently.
  • Conduct, record and summarize student observations and progress as directed.
  • Ensure a safe learning environment through application of school rules and expectations, as well as, policies established by Waterville Public Schools.
  • Exhibit a positive professional attitude with supervisors, co-workers and students.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all student and employee-related information.
  • Perform additional tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
