About the Position

RSU 57 is currently seeking a highly qualified instructional coach to support 6th-12th grade staff with the implementation of curriculum, instruction and assessment initiatives at Massabesic Middle and Massabesic High School. The position will start in late August for the 2024-25 school year.

The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive knowledge of instructional best practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Working alongside teachers, teaching teams and administrators, the Instructional Coach will focus on improving academic achievement among all learners. 

 Major responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with staff to analyze student data, identify instructional needs, and develop action steps to meet those needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers in designing and implementing effective instructional strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Model best practices in instruction and student engagement strategies aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and implement interdisciplinary units that integrate multiple content areas.
  • Plan and provide professional development that will advance learning and the district’s strategic plan goals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement among staff through regular meetings, coaching sessions, and professional learning communities.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Literacy, Educational Leadership
  • State of Maine Teaching Certification
  • 5 or more years of successful teaching experience and evidence of teacher leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse groups of staff orally, in writing, and with visual media
  • Ability to work independently while following a common mission and vision
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
