The Maine Academy of Natural Sciences is looking for an organized, flexible, high energy Ed Tech III with the ability to work well in a fast-paced collegial environment.  Candidates should meet Maine Certification requirements and have CHRC completed.  Demonstration of ability to support academic work, use technology for data entry and management, and to listen empathetically yet be a strong coach for positive student behavior and restorative practice methods. Knowledge of proficiency-based learning systems and strong classroom management skills are necessary.  This position is about 5 hours a day, 4 days a week, with a year round school year.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ed Tech III Certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to supervise a student support learning environment, multitasking needs.
  • Experience supporting learning for individual assignments or study habits.
  • Experience with standards-based grading preferred.
  • Proven success with review/analysis of school-wide data systems and share with staff as needed.
  • Positive Behavior Support and Restorative Justice Practices experience preferred.
  • Assist and cover classes, advisories, or student led conferences as needed.
  • Member of school-wide committee related to student behaviors.
  • Liaison to families on behalf of school when major events happen at home impacting students.
  • Help coordinate events and student/staff recognition efforts.

Located on several hundred picturesque acres of wilderness, organic farmland and river frontage on US Route 201 in central Maine, the Maine Academy of Natural Sciences (MeANS) focuses on agriculture, the environment, forestry, other career skills training, and independent living skills. Students come to MeANS from local schools and from across the state, with room and board options available.
