SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
LISBON COMMUNITY SCHOOL
(beginning 2024-2025 school year)
The Lisbon School Department is seeking a highly qualified individual to join the special education team at Lisbon Community School that serves students with a wide variety of emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges. The individuals in this position will provide direct instruction in a resource room setting, consultation with regular education teachers and related service providers, implement Individual Education Programs, complete assessments, maintain accurate records and communicate with IEP Team Members. The position also requires supervision of a team of educational technicians.
REQUIREMENTS: Maine Certification 282 or 286 and CHRC certification.
EXPERIENCE: Successful experience working with children who present a variety of challenges including emotional, academic and autism is helpful. Should demonstrate understanding of special education regulations, the IEP process and state/federal learning standards. Successful history of supervising staff and collaborating with other professionals.
