Wiscasset School Department has an opening for an Elementary School Principal, grades PK-5 ~ To begin July 1, 2020. Application Deadline is March 6, 2020.
This leader will join an administrative team who is devoted to learning and growing with an organization that is committed to continuous improvement. A successful candidate and a good match for this position is a school administrator who is dedicated to increasing student achievement through implementing ongoing, job-embedded professional development for educators as part of their work. The successful candidate will have the skillset to work closely with the administrative team to build a curriculum that prepares our students for future learning experiences and life readiness. Experience with addressing school improvement through student learning, teacher perceptions, school climate and school processes is important. Prospective candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and staff to ensure that programming is student-centered, goal oriented, research-based and supports the direction of the organization.
The successful candidate will have collaborative leadership skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills and administrative experience. A Master's Degree or higher, experience as an elementary level teacher and ME DOE administrator certification are all required.
