RSU 3 is currently seeking a highly skilled SEL Counselor to work with students throughout the district. This position is for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year and may be extended through the 2022-2023 school year.
1. Possession of Maine School Counselor, School Psychologist or School Social Work license
2. At least 2 years experience in working in a rural area is preferred.
3. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
Must be a skilled communicator, have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and high professional standards.
Utilize Social Emotional Learning (SEL) standards across the academic and career domains with student intervention strategies.
Provides high quality instruction to individual students and small groups.
Provides assistance with de-escalating student behaviors and reintegrating students back into the classroom.
Work with students individually or in integrated settings such as the regular classroom, team meetings, and in cooperation with classroom teachers.
Student and Staff support includes but is not limited to one-on-one support, group work, classroom and teacher support, and collaborative problem solving with both prevention and intervention models.
Other duties assigned by administration.
