Job Description:
Pond Cove is a large elementary school with 550+ students in grades K-4 and 100 staff. We are high-performing with expectations of excellence and rigor in all areas of an educator's professional practice. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and competent educator for a Response to Intervention (RTI) Educational Technician III position.

The successful candidate will join a team of four RTI Educational Technicians and five RTI teachers. The person in this role will be responsible for delivering targeted Response to Intervention (RTI) to individual and small groups of elementary students in the areas of literacy and mathematics. The work also includes collecting student data, documenting interventions, and maintaining progress monitoring data to inform instruction. The selected candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop positive relationships with students and to work collaboratively with others. Responsibilities also include fulfilling daily arrival/dismissal and recess/lunch coverage and substituting for classroom teachers as needed.

Certification and Education Requirements:

  • Maine Educational Technician III (023)
  • Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) approval
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • Preferred experience/training in the following:
    • NWEA assessments
    • Responsive Classroom
    • Positive Behavioral Supports and Interventions
    • Response to Intervention (RTI)

  • Provide students with engaging, hands-on, and high-interest lessons/learning opportunities
  • Meet student needs, including social-emotional, academic, and behavior
  • Share ownership of students for all aspects of learning and fulfill supervision duties (e.g., recess, lunch, etc.)
  • Be able to pivot quickly when changes happen (e.g., schedule changes, support and attend school assemblies and events, fulfill coverage needs, etc.)
