University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking to hire an Experiential Learning & Recreation Manager.  The successful candidate will develop and implement a comprehensive program of extra and co-curricular indoor and outdoor student activities and experiences. They will include cultural and social diversity, environmental stewardship, community development, personal health and development including recreational activities, life skills, community service, and campus spirit. This position will work with academic programs to coordinate and assist with summer camps, academic year events and conferences.

 

The Experiential Learning & Recreation Manager will work with all Student Affairs staff, including the Director of Residential Life and the Dean of Students. In addition this position will work with Facilities Management, Student Student, Student Activities Board, UMFK Foundation members, Business Office, Student Success, Career Planning, TRIO, Administrative Services, and faculty in matters pertaining to extra and co-curricular programs and student development.

 

In addition to the required qualifications, we are seeking a candidate that has excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to use a high level of creativity, innovation, and project management skills. A background in college student personnel, higher education administration, Residence Life, international student services, or related fields is an asset.  

 

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the starting salary for this position is $46,000.00 plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan.   Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents.  The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers wellness programs.

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Demonstrated interest and abilities in student or personal development activities 
  • Ability to transport students using the University motor pool 

Preferred

  • Experience in higher education student life or activities 
  • Maine Outdoors Guide Certification
