MACHIAS POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Machias Police Department is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time School Resource Officer (SRO). The Officer selected will be assigned to work 40 hour week (Monday-Friday) providing the school department with law enforcement resources and expertise so as to maintain safety and order in the school environment. The SRO, is involved in a variety of functions aimed at prevention. The SRO will be a resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators regarding law issues as well as providing day to day patrol functions within the school environment.
Starting pay ranges from $27.93 - $29.35 depending on training/certification and years of service.

Requirements
*Must possess a valid and current certification as a full-time Law Enforcement Officer through the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or it's out of state equivalent.
*Posseses two years of full-time Law Enforcement experience, post Basic Law Enforcement Training Program or its equivalent program.
*Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, medical evaluation and psychological evaluation.
*Successful completion of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy's SRO training program within the first year of employment.
