The Maine Ocean School, a public magnet high school, is seeking an energetic and motivated long-term substitute teacher for March 1st to June 21st, 2019. (A 3 or 4-day work schedule and/or some flexibility in daily hours is possible for the right candidate).
The mission of Maine Ocean School is to provide a theme-based high school education focused on Maine’s maritime connection, with an emphasis on leadership, work ethic, and the transferable skills associated with careers involving the ocean.
Maine Ocean School opened last Fall with 12 students, grade 9-11. The ideal candidate will be eager to teach Math and Science to enthusiastic and motivated high school students in very small groups, supported with teaching materials that have been developed by the teacher who is going on leave.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
