Montessori Early Childhood Team Teacher

Winfield Children's House | Falmouth, ME

Posted Date 3/31/2024
Description

Winfield Children's House is begining the search for an early childhood teacher to join our team for school year 2024-25 and work in our Accredited Montessori Preschool program in one of our 3-6 year old classrooms

The position requires a thoughtful, nurturing, conscientious teacher who has worked with young children, and is passionate about Early Childhood education.  A Montessori credential or experience in a Montessori preschool is a plus, but more important is a recognition of the importance of a solid EC program, and a curiosity to learn more. Winfield also sponsors teachers to attend training to receive their Montessori credential, so this position could be ideal if you are looking to further your career.

In other environments, this position might be called an Assistant Teacher, but at Winfield we embrace the notion that every person brings value and importance, so we consider this a person a true Team Teacher. You will be part of a classroom team with a credentialed Montessori teacher or two, and part of the wider Winfield community made up of two Toddler classrooms for children 16 months through 3 years, and four Early Childhood classrooms, for children 3-6 years old. Our full-time Outdoor Educator and Art teachers round out our talented and caring teaching staff.

This position is full-time and can be either school year or year-round; during the summer months, a smaller nature and art camp is offered to our enrolled students.

Winfield is located in Falmouth, just north of Portland, Maine. Recently celebrating its 35th anniversary, Winfield currently serves approximately 100 students from 16 months through 6 years old.
