Qualifications: Must hold, or be eligible for, State of Maine Teacher of Gifted and Talented 690 Certification.

Description: Winthrop Middle and High Schools are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Gifted and Talented teacher to join the School community. Candidates must have the appropriate education, background, experience and Maine Department of Education Authorization (Certification 690) and current CHRC. 

This position is based in two separate buildings, serving approximately 450 students in Grades 6-12.  It involves the identification of gifted and/or talented students, development of programing for students, assistance in the implementation of those programs, and record keeping for all identified students. This position also teaches regular education reading classes at the middle school level and assists with duties assigned by the High School principal.

Future classes could include coding classes and the management of a robotics program.

The successful candidate must be collaborative, creative and have a passion for programing to support enhanced teaching and learning for all students. Prior experience in grades 6-12 setting is preferred.
