Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children? KidsPeace is looking to add a Special Education Teacher to our Graham Lake School in Ellsworth!

The KidsPeace Graham Lake School is a special purpose private school serving children pre-k through high school with developmental disabilities and emotional disorders. This is an intensive and collaborative program that operates year-round. Our students receive individualized educational and behavioral services provided by a team of clinical and educational professionals and providers. Under the supervision of certified Special Ed teachers, Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA), and Licensed Mental Health Clinicians, School Based Behavioral Health Professions (SB-BHP)/Educational Technicians work in both small groups and 1:1 with students to meet their educational and behavioral goals.

KidsPeace is looking for a professional who is dedicated, compassionate, and creative to join our team. KidsPeace will provide the initial and ongoing training necessary to become an effective Special Education Teacher and provide on-going opportunities for professional development.

A creative, energetic, certified teacher to supervise a self-contained program for students with multiple disabilities who require a strong behavioral component. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience working with children with developmental and/or emotional disabilities
  • Behavior intervention and management skills
  • Successful instructional strategies and teaching skills, for both 1:1 and small group instruction
  • Supervision of support staff
  • 282 or 286 DOE certification or documentation from the DOE that candidate is certified in K-8, will also accept K-6
Salary40,000.00 - 57,000.00 Annual
