School Description:
Dayton Consolidated School serves students PreK through Grade 5.
Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- Supports students and families to promote academic, social and emotional growth.
- Facilitating referrals to the Department of Human Services per school committee policy.
- Coordinating and consulting with community resources, and other interested community residents.
- Organizing and providing training programs for parents.
- Maintaining complete records on all in-school referrals and case management.
- Respecting confidentiality of position.
- Facilitates a smooth transition for children between grade levels and schools.
- Develops a variety of resource materials to be used for classroom guidance activities.
- Develops programs and assist students in dealing with human relations, social values, decision making, personal development and career preparation, and to conduct classes in these areas.
- Works with Building Leader to collect and apply student data to improve the educational programming of students.
- Adheres to truancy protocols.
- Assists in the programming needs of all students throughout the school.
- Making home visits when deemed necessary or upon request by a Building Leader.
- Provide relevant student/family information to staff that assists with individual student growth.
- Serves on committees as assigned by the Building Leader and Director of Special Education.
- Attend IEPs and serves students with IEPs as an educational related service.
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Leader or Director of Special
Certification/License:
- Licensed by State of Maine Social Work Registration Board.
- Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
- School Counselor (#075)- optional
Education:
Masters Degree as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Experience:
Successful prior school experience for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
Compensation:
Based on education level, experience, and per the collective bargaining agreement
Range: $49,750 - $81,650
