Anticipated Opening – Assistant Director

The Oxford Hills Technical School (Maine Vocational Region 11) enrolls over 500 students from 11 towns in Western Maine. OHTS is seeking a dedicated individual to join our administrative team supporting our 22 programs. This is a new position that will start in August of 2024, pending voter approval of the annual budget in June 2024. This is 190 day per year position.

 A minimum of five years teaching and/or school administrative experience are required. A Maine Assistant Principal (045) or Principal (040) certification is preferred. The responsibilities of this position include:

• Observing and evaluating instructors and trade assistants.

• “Instructional Coaching” of probationary instructors and assisting with certification.

• Serving as a member of the OHCHS leadership team and other committees as assigned by the Director.

• Assisting the director with the Program Review process, and planning and implementation of new programs.

• Respond to OHTS student concerns in OHTS classes and OHCHS common areas.

• Collaborating with the Student Services Coordinator during the recruitment and acceptance process for new students.

• Assisting the director and board in the recruitment and hiring of new staff.

• Monitoring safety practices in all programs to ensure compliance with industry expectations, insurance requirements and government regulations.  Serving on the OHCHS Safety Team.

• Assisting the director in carrying out administrative, policy and procedural matters of OHTS.

• Represent OHTS in OHCHS and community organizations at the discretion of the director.

• Assist the director in tracking and oversight of PACs for each program.
