Indian Island School is currently accepting applications for the following 2024-2025 school year position:

Education Technician III (Special Education)

Indian Island School is located in the home of the Penobscot Indian Nation on Indian Island, a small island located in the Penobscot River. This PK-8 school serves children from the Penobscot tribal community and other Wabanaki tribes. We are looking for an enthusiastic, team-oriented person who focuses on the whole child.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following abilities and experiences:

  • Strong desire to provide equitable opportunities and support to all children
  • Ability to support students in a variety of settings
  • Solid organizational skills
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Capacity to develop positive relationships to promote and support student success
  • Commitment to professional learning and growth including engagement in Penobscot and Wabanaki cultural professional development

Applicants must have State of Maine required certification and submit to substance abuse testing as required by the school committee. Competitive salary, full family health and single dental insurance.
