The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Faculty to teach in the Trauma-Informed Emergency Management (TEM) Program. The program needs part-time faculty to teach: 

  • TEM 505 Individual, Family, and Community Resilience
  • TEM 357 Disaster Mental Health and Psychological First Aid
  • TEM 558 Trauma Informed Intervention for Youth and Families
  • Other TEM-related courses

Review of applications is ongoing. Please note that general part-time faculty postings are to establish applicant pools. We anticipate a need for instructors for the Fall and Spring semesters of 2024-2025; however, positions may or may not be immediately available. 

Part-time temporary faculty members may be asked to teach in subsequent semesters based on course availability, schedule, funding, and performance. Continuation is subject to the terms of the PATFA bargaining agreement and other applicable College and University policies.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and previous college teaching experience, in accordance with the PATFA contract.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Three to five years of experience in a relevant field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree or five or more years of experience in a relevant field of programmatic course or concentration
  • Experience teaching at the university level in distance modalities (online, distance, synchronous, etc.)
  • Understanding of emergency or crisis preparedness, response, and recovery
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practices
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice in education and practice
