We are hiring an Early Head Start Teacher 2 for the Wilton Early Learning Center in our Infant/Toddler classroom. The Teacher 2 is part of a teaching team that plans experiences to meet young children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, and engages with families in meeting both their children’s and family’s needs. Other responsibilities include monitoring children’s progress, completing paperwork and reports, and maintaining records and data on individual children. This position is 40 hours/week for 52 weeks/year. Effective January 31, 2022, the Head Start Program Performance Standards, to which Community Concepts is contractually bound, will be requiring all Head Start staff to comply with its universal masking policy and be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless they have an approved medical/disability or religious exemption, in which case they must test on at least a weekly basis and have a negative test to remain in the classroom. Qualifications A Child Development Associate CDA credential and have been trained (or have equivalent coursework) in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development required.
Other Requirements: Must have experience in an early childhood setting; excellent verbal and written communication skills; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry and perform other high energy activities; a valid driver’s license; telephone; computer/word-processing skills, preferably Microsoft Office; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team. Pre-employment physical, TB screening, SBI, DMV, DHHS, Maine Sex Offender Registry and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
