We are seeking a passionate and dynamic educator to join our York Middle School team as a full time Choral and Instrumental Music teacher for grades 5-8th. Candidates should have a strong understanding of vocal and instrument (winds and percussion) pedagogy while having a passion for teaching in middle school. This individual will be responsible for leading our middle school chorus program while also teaching some general music and instrumental classes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of music education principles, be able to inspire students to develop their musical talents, and create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or related field.
Valid teaching certification in Maine with a 614 endorsement, or eligibility for a conditional endorsement.Previous experience teaching chorus and general music at the middle school level preferred.Proficiency in vocal techniques, conducting, and music theory.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for music education.
