Morrison Center is looking for a full-time Ed Tech IIs and/or IIIs to join the strong teams in our PreK-12 special purpose schools in Scarborough and Wells. This is a year-round position, serving students with a variety of severe disabilities, including autism, physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and behavioral challenges. This program is able to meet the needs of students in creative and innovative ways, even providing peers through integration into community activities. Our multidisciplinary team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, BCBAs, and Special Education Teachers.
Ed Tech job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Assisting in planning and carrying out plans for students in both group in and individual activities.
-Assisting in the development of students IEPs.
-Recording and maintaining student progress notes.
-Providing personal care, including activities of daily living skills and individual feeding and toileting programs.
-Helps to maintain and organize the classroom.
-Communicates effectively and professionally with supervisor, other members of the team, and parents.
-Contributes to a positive work environment that sustains or enhances the Center's positive image and reputation for service.
-Ed Techs assist with transportation to and from our residential program on a rotating basis.
Must be Certified or qualify for certification as an Ed Tech II or III in the State of Maine; BHP Certification a bonus.
Must be able to assist in moving students and be able to move and react quickly to student needs and behaviors.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred particularly those with higher physical and behavioral needs.
ASL Skills a bonus!
Ed Tech III Certification requires 90 college credit hours and/or documented paid work experience. Ed Tech II requires 60 college credit hours. For more info, please visit: https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert
Pay and Benefits:
Annual Salary ranges from $27,500 - $31,000 based on experience. Additional $50 stipend provided for each day Ed Techs assist with transportation responsibilities.
We offer an excellent year-round schedule with 233 working days a year (including 3 Professional Development days), 10 holidays, and 18 vacations days built in. Ed Techs also accrue an additional 8 earned-time days each year.
