The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Facilities Maintenance Manager for its Bangor campus. This position manages the assigned buildings of the campus as well as oversees the grounds and custodial services, which includes developing processes and plans for projects and services. Work is primarily managerial in nature, with overall responsibility for the department's operational policies, procedures, and evaluation of services. It requires comprehensive knowledge of methodologies and principles of the assigned area to effectively manage the assigned services. Duties include: prioritizing the workload, monitoring the energy management system, ensuring compliance with laws and regulatory codes, and other critical duties to support UMA's mission.
This position is designated as an essential position requiring the individual to be able to work during periods of inclement weather and/or campus emergencies.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with occasional overtime hours.
Wage: The starting pay is $25.85 per hour.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- At least ten years of sufficient experience in maintenance, custodial, construction, and/or grounds-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Four years of supervisory or managerial experience
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record/ability to be approved to drive University vehicles
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to work occasional overtime, which may include occasional nights and weekends
- Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds
- Ability to establish work priorities and work independently
- Ability to provide written and oral instructions to others
- Computer literacy
- Good organizational and communication skills
This can be a physically demanding position and typically requires: the ability to perform physical activities that require talking, hearing, seeing, considerable and repetitive use of arms and legs, and moving the entire body, such as reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, climbing, lifting, bending, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
