Our Children’s Services Department is hiring a Teacher 2 at our Norway Early Learning Center in our Preschool classroom. This position is part of a teaching team that plans experiences to meet young children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, and engages with families in meeting both their children’s and family’s needs. Other responsibilities include completing paperwork and reports, maintaining records and data on individual children. Travel within the service area is required. This position is 40 hours/week for 50 weeks/year. Effective January 31, 2022, the Head Start Program Performance Standards, to which Community Concepts is contractually bound, will be requiring all Head Start staff to comply with its universal masking policy and be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless they have an approved medical/disability or religious exemption, in which case they must test on at least a weekly basis and have a negative test to remain in the classroom. Qualifications: CDA or are enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associates or Baccalaureate degree or, are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.
Other requirements: Must have experience in an early childhood setting; excellent verbal and written communication skills; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry and perform other high-energy activities; a valid driver’s license; telephone; computer/word-processing skills, preferably Microsoft Office; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team. Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Pre-employment physical and TB screening, SBI, DMV, DHHS, sex offender registry, fingerprinting and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
