Cook (Float Position)

POSITION:               Cook (Float postion- assigned as needed)

LOCATION:             District Wide

HOURS/STATUS:    20 hours per week; Hours will vary between 6:00am-2:00pm

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist in the preparation of food, food portions and serving food to Students and Staff.
• Operate cash register.
• Notify the Head Cook of supplies to be ordered.
• Clean up and maintain the kitchen and garbage collection area.
• Clean and maintain all food service equipment.  Notify the Head Cook of fixtures or equipment in need of repair or replacement.
• Receive and store supplies and maintain all storage areas.
• Submit reports within required timeframes to the Head Cook; including, but not limited to, daily production reports.
• Follow applicable State and Federal regulations for the USDA Child Nutrition Program.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) or ability to attain. 
• Math skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Cash register experience preferred. 
• Interpersonal skills; friendly and helpful manner required. 
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position.
