North Yarmouth Academy seeks a part-time Literacy and Academic Support Specialist for kindergarten through fourth grade in our Lower School. The specialist will work with small pullout groups and alongside lead teachers in the classrooms to provide language arts enrichment and support. This role also includes assessing students’ reading levels and working with the Head of Lower School and teaching team on curriculum development. We are looking for a person who is passionate about working with children and is eager to be part of a vibrant PreK-PG school community. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in literacy, elementary or special education, or related field; warmth and generosity of spirit; the ability to work collaboratively; a responsible and trustworthy nature; and demonstrated experience working with children in a school environment.
This is a part-time school year position beginning Fall 2024. The specialist may also serve as a resource to families to provide tutoring and specially designed instruction to individual students as needed.
