POSITION:             Social Studies Teacher (Grades 9-12)

LOCATION:           Mt. Ararat High School 

HOURS/STATUS:  Full-Time (1.0 FTE) 

                               School Year 2024-2025

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Instruct a variety of secondary Social Studies courses to include world religions, comparative governments, comparative economics, international relations and U.S. History.
• Support and lead students for the Advisory program.
• Participate in professional development in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
• Support non-instructional duties.
• Other duties per teacher contract.

REQUIREMENTS:                                                                

• Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred.
• Current State of Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification in Social Studies, Grades 9-12.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Familiarity with secondary Social Studies content standards.
• Knowledge of integrated technology and experience with current trends in curriculum, instruction and assessment, to include MLTI.
