Description

The Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf is seeking to fill an 32 hrs/wk, 185-day Occupational Therapist position.

 

Job Description: This position requires the therapist to plan and implement specific occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the Individual Education Plan process. In addition to working collaboratively with various team members using an interdisciplinary team approach. Occupational therapy services are provided at the school within various settings. Experience with evaluations, consultation, co-treatment, discharge and transition planning is beneficial. Willingness to be flexible with scheduling based on the needs of students and programmatic needs is a must. This position has the ability to serve Preschool through Grades K- 5.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Maine Licensure in Occupational Therapy is required.  Extensive knowledge of principles and methods of occupational therapy; including evaluative and treatment strategies. The ability to communicate in American Sign Language is preferred or a willingness to learn American Sign Language. Early childhood experience preferred.
