Morrison Center has an exciting opportunity for Ed Techs and BHPs! Start and end your day at our Children's Residential Campus in New Gloucester, transport our students to our Scarborough Special Purpose School and work the school day there before transporting back to New Gloucester.

Only 233 work days of the year but get paid all year with a salaried position!! Additional pay included for each day you assist with transportation!

Ample time off built into your schedule plus earned time off!

This is a year-round position working 233 school days. This position would work 7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday.

Our school and children's residential programs serve students with a variety of severe disabilities, including autism, physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and behavioral challenges. Our programs are able to meet the needs of students in creative and innovative ways, even providing peers through integration into community activities. Our multidisciplinary team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, BCBAs, and Special Education Teachers.

Ed Tech job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Assisting in planning and carrying out plans for students in both group and individual activities.

-Assisting in the development of students IEPs.

-Recording and maintaining student progress notes.

-Providing personal care, including activities of daily living skills and individual feeding and toileting programs.

-Helps to maintain and organize the classroom.

-Communicates effectively and professionally with supervisor, other members of the team, and parents.

-Contributes to a positive work environment that sustains or enhances the Center's positive image and reputation for service.

Requirements:
Must be Certified as an Ed Tech II or III in the State of Maine

BHP and Safety Care Certification preferred.

Must be able to assist in moving students and be able to move and react quickly to student needs and behaviors.

Must be able to drive for the agency: valid driver's license, at least 23 years of age, and a good driving record.

ASL Skills a bonus!

Education:
Ed Tech III Certification requires 90 college credit hours and/or documented paid work experience. Ed Tech II Certification requires 60 college credit hours and/or documented paid work experience.

This position would work 233 days a year. Our school calendar has 9 holidays and 22 vacation days built in. Ed Techs also accrue 8 earned-time days each year.

Pay:

Base salary of $31,000/year with earning potential up to $43,000 with additional pay of $50/day for transportation.

Overtime hours available in the Children's Res program if desired.
