Extended School Year (ESY) Coordinator

RSU5 is seeking a collaborative, highly organized educator to serve as ESY Coordinator for the Summer 2024 Special Education ESY program. The ESY Coordinator will oversee implementation of the ESY program. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellent planning skills, attention to detail, and clear, effective communication.

 

Extended School Year services will be provided from July 8 – August 1, 2024, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

 

The ESY Coordinator is expected to be available a minimum of 1 hour prior to the daily start time (7:30 AM) and 1 hour after the daily end time (12:30 PM) to assist with any issues that arise.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the design of ESY programming with the assigned teachers in the programs.
  • Communicate with families as needed.
  • Monitor and manage ESY programs at the school level, across all ESY programs and buildings.
  • Manage and problem-solve as needed, all aspects of day-to-day ESY programming including but not limited to: students/staff time, staff and student attendance, substitutes, paperwork, and transportation.
  • Monitor, support and compile teacher progress monitoring during and at the end of the ESY program.

 

Requirements:

 

Must hold a valid 282- Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification from Maine Dept. of Education OR Special Education related service provider with relevant experience.
