Lead Preschool Teacher

The Bath Area Family YMCA invites applicants for a Preschool Lead Teacher.  Our staff provide safe, nurturing, stimulating environments that support child growth and development.  

Successful candidate will demonstrate the following: experience working with young children, familiarity with the State of Maine Early Childhood Learning Guidelines, Creative Curriculum, and NAEYC Accreditation Standards, current CPR/First Aid certification, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitmement to the field of early care and education.  

Position Summary:  

Provides direct supervision to a group of children in the Enrichment Program.  Creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers.  Promotes and supports the potential of all children in program and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall preschool experience.  

Qualifications:

1. State of Maine Early Childhood Education Certification, Birth to age 5 (081)
2. Previous experience working with children in a preschool setting. 
3. At least 18 years of age 
4. CPR, first aid, AED certifications, and child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
