Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
KIDS RSU #2 is currently looking for a full-time qualified, dedicated Special Education Teacher to help support children ages 3-5 with disabilities in our public PreK program in the District.
- Local travel required - Program sites Monmouth Memorial School - Hall-Dale Elementary School
The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher is a member of the IEP team and provides services to children ages 3-5 within our school and partner programs. KIDS RSU#2 is currently building their PreK Special Education program, and this person would spend the 2 weeks in August working closely with school administrators in developing the program and preparing to ready our new students in the fall.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Maine Department of Education certification in Special Education (#282, #282B)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of child development, disabilities, family systems and special education methods
- Ability to provide individual and group services in a preschool setting
- Ability to establish an effective rapport/relationship with children and parents
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an early childhood team
- Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing
- Ability to treat and motivate young children
START DATE: Available to begin in August 2026

SALARY: Based on teacher position experience and in accordance with the 2026-2027 wage scale in the teacher bargaining agreement: $45,630 [BA, step 1] - $84,537 [MA+15, step 22+], prorated from start date. The complete contract year is 181 days.
