Special Education Self-Contained Teacher K-5

Job description:

• Work with and instruct students with disabilities individually and in small groups
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input
• Complete IEP documentation as per state and federal regulations
• Conduct achievement and/or behavioral assessments within specified timelines
• Collaborate with educational support staff, related service providers, and administrators
• Regularly communicate special education students progress/needs to parents and staff
• Communicate with school administration on student issues as needed
• Participate in school faculty meetings and staff development workshops offered by the district
• Enforce and uphold all district and Program/Builiding policies, rules, and regulations
• Perform all other duties assigned

Qualifications:

• Possess or qualify to secure a valid Maine Teaching Certificate with K-8 Special Education 282 Endorsement or qualify to transfer current certification
• Meets State and Federal requirements

Qualification preferred:

• Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting
• Special Education experience working with students with behavioral and autism needs
• Understanding and experience working with Individual Education Plans
• Understanding and experience of Behavioral Intervention Plans and incentive plans
• Possess experience with data collection and analysis
