Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities across various grade levels. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conducting formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.
- Providing direct and specially designed instruction in both resource room and inclusive settings.
- Collaborating effectively with general education teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents/guardians to ensure student success.
- Managing a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment.
- Maintaining thorough and accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Maine DOE Endorsement, 282.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience with various instructional strategies and differentiated instruction techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use data to drive instructional decisions.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Proper Maine DOE certification and background check required for all positions
