Installation and Service

This position has responsibility for all aspects of assembly, troubleshooting, development, installation and service of Custom Assembly Automation. In addition, the Technician travels to customer locations for installations of the machinery they build. Job documentation, quality, and professionally representing EAM/Prescott in the field are a major part of this position. Proficient in field service work and support. Ability to represent EAM professionally in the field. Able to assist sales efforts with current and new customers.

Assembly

Electrical assembly

  • Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical blueprints
  • Documentation of changes with engineering and purchasing BOMs
  • Automation setup, startup and debug
  • Understanding of Mechanical Components, bearings, pneumatic systems, etc.
  • Understanding of electrical sensors, PLCs, motor drives, vision systems, etc.
  • Maintain accurate BOM changes for all jobs
  • Working closely with engineers to develop new automation systems
  • Able to assist with some basic engineering tasks
  • Able to lead projects/team
  • Machine setup and run up through customer approval process. Automation setup, startup and debug at customer facility
  • Assist with program debug
  • Travel required
  • Working closely with engineers to develop new automation systems
  • Customer training

All above duties require:

  • Strong electrical wiring and crimping skills, small to large wire gauge and cable assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge and experience operating power tools and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical fabrication drawings, including tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret production job orders and bills of materials.
  • Analyze and record test results, and prepare written testing documentation.
  • Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as multi-meters and electronic controls testing equipment.
  • Experience with electrical control panels, maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing, system, and tools.
  • Experience managing inventory and company assets.
  • Ability to design and build jibs and fixtures.
  • Experience working with engineers on projects.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems, components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Experience with basic ERP systems
  • Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, squares, scales, etc.
  • Ability to travel to perform service and/or machine installations
  • Maintaining Accurate time logging for jobs
  • Display leadership skills
