Part-Time Shuttle Driver, Mornings
North Yarmouth Academy is seeking a part-time shuttle driver to pick up students in the morning. Normal hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Prior experience and bus driver license endorsement are a plus but not required – we will train the right candidate!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Prepare vehicle for roadworthiness (inspection and documentation, gas, snow removal, etc.)
• Transport all passengers from designated meeting points to NYA, ensuring efficient and safe transport and loading and unloading of the bus.
• Ensure safe, reliable, and timely transportation of students at all times.
• Obey all traffic laws and observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline on the school bus at all times.
• Communicate with the Director of Transportation about concerns with vehicles and/or student behavior in a timely and professional manner and using established protocols.
• Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Valid State of Maine driver’s license
• Clean driving record with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Current Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check Authorization, or able to obtain.
• Physical ability to meet primary responsibilities.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Training provided if necessary.
