Do you have a passion for working with children and families? Spurwink is looking for compassionate, dedicated individuals who want to empower youth and families by creating strength-based behavior change that will be sustained long after treatment ends.

You will receive ongoing training in the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model as you work with families, youth, their communities, and other key members of their ecology to implement FFT as designed. Extensive research has proven the effectiveness of FFT. You will empower families to address challenging and/or problematic behavior and to help youth aged 10 - 18 make life-transforming changes. Treatment progress is made through intensive interventions such as family therapy, skill building, and generalizing change within families to name a few.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct clinical treatment using the FFT treatment model and principles. Some principles include leveraging strengths and focusing on the positive, interrupting blame and negativity in family meetings, and changing focus and reframing as necessary to name a few.

  • Use FFT phases to utilize specific skills and achieve goals.
  • Comfort working with a diverse community of clients.
  • Knowledge of the types of families in the community.
  • Continuously work to engage the primary caregiver, family members, supports, and community agency staff in change-oriented treatment.
  • Dedicate time to weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress, with ongoing support from your supervisor and team members.
  • Receive regular training, professional development, supervision, and consultation activities designed to help you acquire extensive clinical skills within the FFT treatment model.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LCSW, LMSW-cc, LCPC, LCPC-c, LMFT, or LMFT-c. New grads encouraged to apply!

The job requires the willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule including late afternoons or evenings. Mileage is reimbursed and you'll provide counseling in families' homes and via telehealth. This position provides an ideal learning opportunity for new clinicians in a powerful, evidenced based model. You will receive on-the-job training and intensive individual and group supervision.
