Thornton Academy is seeking a qualified candidate to be the assistant coach for the varsity girls lacrosse team.   The candidate should be a dynamic individual who can work within the format of an education-based athletic program.  Key qualities for the successful applicant include:   the ability to effectively communicate, enthusiasm, and an interest in contributing to the personal growth and skill development of young people.  Experience with playing or coaching the sport of girls lacrosse is preferred.

? College transcript (an unofficial/student-issued copy is sufficient, though an official copy may
later be requested)
? Contact information for three work-related references
? Evidence of current/active CHRC certificate (required by Maine law)
o This certification may be pursued later in the hiring process but the candidate must be
willing to undergo a background check and fingerprinting by the State of Maine; more
information may be found at the Dept of Education website here)
