Hello Speech and Language Pathologist Candidates!  Looking for a dream location?  Our modern and comfortable pK-12 school is located on a beautiful island near the coast of Maine, with a total of just over 150 students.  Due to a retirement, we have a full or part-time position for someone who would like to join a fun, skilled and cooperative staff that knows and cares about each and every student.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology;
  • Valid State of Maine certification with appropriate licenses;
  • Effective interpersonal skills to consult effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents, in a variety of settings; 
  • Ability to write valid IEP’s and to follow IDEA procedures; 
  • Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons; 
  • Assess, screen, and evaluate students and effectively share results with parents/guardians and staff, and participate in the eligibility determination process in accordance with state regulations. 
  • Develop and implement individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Speech/Language impairment and assist with IEPs for students with speech/language as a service on an annual basis.
  • Maintain records and information concerning individual students in the prescribed confidential manner. 
  • Provide direct and consultative therapeutic services related to expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language.
