Belfast Area High School Assistant Principal
Belfast Area High School, with an enrollment of just over 520 students in grades 9-12, is looking for an Assistant Principal to join a fun and collaborative team of administrators in midcoast Maine. Candidates should be interested in pursuing progressive programming for students and dedicated to assisting faculty in challenging and improving their professional growth.
In addition to a strong Advanced Placement program and established technical pathways at our regional technical center, BAHS has become a leader within the state in offering Extended Learning Opportunities and recently has become a candidate with the International Baccalaureate to supplement coursework for students.
Areas of responsibility may include instructional leadership and coaching, restorative practices with discipline, data analysis in both standardized testing and formative metrics for monitoring student’s academic and mental health, supervision and evaluation of staff, grant writing, positive culture building, understanding and knowledge of IEP and 504 plan implementation, genuine interest in increasing school attendance, and knowledge of post-secondary opportunities for students.
RSU #71 offers a competitive salary and benefit package. The successful candidate will begin employment on July 1, 2024. The position is open until a suitable candidate is found.
Candidate must have Maine Department of Education Building Administrator Certification.
