The Superintendent of SAD #46/AOS #94 invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Business Manager. 

The Superintendent's Office is located in Dexter, Maine. The School System is comprised of Ridge View Community School (pk-8), Dexter Regional High School (9-12), Tri-County Technical Center (9-12), Harmony Elementary School (pk-8), and the Athens Community School (pk-8). Student attending the Harmony Elementary and Athens Community School enjoy free choice when deciding which high school, they wish to attend. 

The Business Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the SAD #46 and AOS #94 fiscal affairs including the establishement and maintenance of all internal accounting procedures and operational controls, financial planning and reporting, budgeting, debt management, management information systems, financial auditing, risk management, collective bargaining (advisory capacity), cash management and grant administration. The Business Manager provides fiscal consultation to all town departments and boards.

  • Food Services Oversight

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of governmental and school finances, municipal and school budgeting, payroll and data processing
  • Thorough knowledge of G.A.S.B. fund accounting, state and federal laws regarding finance, various grants, workers' compensation and unemployment compensation laws, school, and municipal administration
  • Thorough knowledge of laws, statues, ordinances, and regualtions which govern the management and control of municipal and school funds.
  • Ability to maintain financial reports and prepare specific related reports.
  • Considerable knowledge regarding computer systems and financial applications.
  • Strong oral and written communicaton skills
  • Ability to effectively superivse the accounting, payroll, treasury and other financial functions.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with members of the Maine Department of Education, Town government, School Board, fincial institutions, general public and outside agencies
  • Ability to coordinate activities and motivate department staff and others.

The qualifications for this position include: a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance business or public admininstration; a minimun of 5 years of progessively responsible financial, school and/or business management experience
