Spurwink's CCBHC is looking for a Peer Specialist/Cultural Broker with strong skills to join our Rapid Access Team in Cumberland County. The Peer Specialist/Cultural Broker works across home, community, school, and office settings. The ideal candidate will have the language capacity to serve a multicultural population.

The Certified Peer Specialist/Cultural Broker helps negotiate cultural differences, increase collaboration among service providers and systems, and reduce the stress associated with isolation and acculturation. Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification required or must obtain within first year of employment.

DUTIES:

  • The Peer Specialist/Cultural Broker partners with Clinicians to deliver mental health services utilizing the evidence-based model Trauma Systems Therapy adapted for refugees (TST-r).
  • Complete psychosocial assessments, service planning, and referrals.
  • The Care Coordinator/Cultural Broker connects families with needed resources, makes referrals, and coordinates with medical and educational providers.
  • Further responsibilities include providing updates on treatment progress for managed care entries, progress notes, and electronic record keeping.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A willingness to share your own personal stories and experiences of resilience to help others in similar situations. Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist or Recovery Coach certification and High school diploma or equivalent, two-year degree/some college preferred.
