Full Time Digital Arts & Technology Teacher - Cape Elizabeth High School
This position is responsible for teaching semester-long courses, which may include but are not limited to digital design, video production, podcasting, television/movie production, computer programming. Most classes are unleveled, and available to grades 9-12. Students in these classes typically use Adobe Creative Suite and knowledge of that platform is preferred but not required. Candidates will potentially have the ability to design their own curriculum/classes based on their skillset.
Classes are designed with a project-based model. The candidate should have an interest in working with multiple age groups and fostering creativity while developing problem-solving skills.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of digital arts and technology.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
MDOE Certification 680 preferred but not required.
