Position Opening: JV Boys Basketball Coach
Old Town High School, home of the Coyotes, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for the upcoming winter season. This position plays a vital role in developing student-athletes and supporting the overall success of the boys' basketball program.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices focused on skill development and team concepts
- Assist in the development and alignment of program philosophy with the varsity level
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic accountability among student-athletes
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaching staff, and school administration
- Ensure compliance with school, district (RSU 34), and Maine Principals’ Association (MPA) policies
- Assist with program organization, equipment, and game preparation
Qualifications:
- Previous basketball coaching and/or playing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and player development
- Ability to build positive relationships with high school student-athletes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must meet all RSU 34 employment requirements, including background check and required certifications (CPR/First Aid, etc.)
Season:
Winter Athletic Season (November – February)
