ACADIA, A Charter Academy for Developing Independence and Achievement, provides a rigorous, comprehensive educational program for children of the Lewiston/Auburn area in grades pre-k through 5, with plans to expand to include 6th in 2020. ACADIA promotes high educational achievement through direct instruction teaching opportunities that are entwined with extensive experiential learning opportunities. ACADIA faculty and staff will support the development of the whole child as each student develops academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe community that requires personal accountability and meaningful participation. It is our intent to support our individual students in developing their full potential, while teaching them the value of belonging, connectedness and contribution to our larger community.
We are seeking the brightest, the best and the most committed to inspire students at ACADIA Academy Charter School. We are currently seeking a full time kindergarten teacher for ACADIA. Preference will be given to applicants with a teaching certification (020) from the Department of Education. Applicants must have their CHRC approval as well.
Teachers must be committed to the vision of ACADIA...providing a comprehensive blend of instruction to children that involves direct instruction, experiential learning opportunitites, and social emotional learning. In return, the Board of Directors promises our teachers small classroom sizes (16-18 maximum!), with ongoing support and professional development opportunites, classroom resources and opportunitites for collaboration and the celebration of student success!
