Specific Job Details:
Starting Fall 2024
Self Contained Functional Life Skills, Experience with students with moderate and severe disabilities. ABA an positive behavior support training is required. Organizational skill and ability to lead a large team and work cooperatively with others.

Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Prepares student Individualized Education Plans: In consultation with parents and IEP team members, drafts, develops and implements IEP’s and transition plans with measureable goals.
  • Completes all special education paperwork accurately, according to regulations, and submits them on time.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.

Certification/License:
Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education certification. (282/286)
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education

Education:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Masters Degree in related area preferred.

Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the grade levels and students with special needs preferred, but not required.
