The Center for Teaching and Learning, an independent school in Edgecomb, seeks applications for the position of part-time outdoor educator, Forest Field Science, Pre-K–grade 2. This is a .3 position, over two partial days per week.
What is taught: CTL has an established hands-on science curriculum, ready for a motivated educator to deliver or adapt. Groups use the Outdoor Classroom, a timber-framed barn with established outdoor fire pit, mud kitchen, and educational materials, as their home base during their Field Science days.
Who: A strong candidate will have experience working with children ages 4-8 years old, will bring knowledge of and interest in the natural world, and will have experience developing and/or delivering hands-on science activities for young learners. Communication is crucial, as this position works collaboratively with the group’s classroom teacher for the program.
