Special Education Teacher, grades 3-8
Starting 2024-25 School Year, FTE


Located a ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Loranger Memorial School is a 375 student, grades 3-8 school seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team. This position will be working with students with a variety of needs. The successful candidate should possess the following:

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS / JOB SUMMARY:
  • Three years of experience
  • Exceptional knowledge and practice on a variety of reading programs to include Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell
  • Conduct academic evaluations and classroom observations
  • Fulfill case management duties, including paperwork and consultation with classroom teachers
  • Consult with team members to provide integrated programming
  • Complete progress monitoring of all students on a scheduled basis
  • Provide direct instruction in reading, writing, math
  • Develop and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Supervise Educational Technicians
  • Knowledge of Chapter 101 regulations
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
  • Excellent communication with parents, teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to promote and support student success
  • Demonstrated ability of understanding and supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students
  • Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills
