Vinalhaven School seeks a K-12 special education teacher who will work with our full-time IEP coordinator, 2.5 teacher colleagues, and our highly skilled staff of Ed Techs (III, II and I) to serve our identified students.
Vinalhaven School is an exciting opportunity for an inspired and creative teacher who wishes to have a dramatic impact on the lives of her/his students. Successful candidates should be prepared to live on the island since daily commutes to the mainland are not always possible and the school day for staff begins and meetings end after the last boat leaves the island for much of the year.
REMOTE RURAL ISLAND LOCATION
Located on the coast of Maine twelve miles by ferry (one hour and 15 minutes) from Rockland, Vinalhaven School is an exciting opportunity for an inspired and creative teacher who wishes to have a dramatic impact on the lives of her/his students. Successful candidates should be prepared to live on the island and become part of the island communty since daily commutes to the mainland are not possible.
