Associate Human Resources Partner


Full-time, Regular, Exempt Position

 

We are looking for a talented individual who wants to learn, grow, and be part of an organization that transforms lives. The University of Maine System (UMS) seeks to hire a full-time, year-round Associate Human Resources Partner to be located on and to serve the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) campus. This associate-level position allows an individual tremendous growth and learning opportunities while developing a broad base of human resources (HR) skills. The position partners with HR across the University of Maine Augusta to develop and administer HR solutions that support relevant strategic goals and provide HR generalist support to faculty, staff, and students both on campus and at various sites and centers around the state. The Associate HR Partner reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and is supported by a team of talented HR individuals from across the University System.   

 

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is in the low $50's and is commensurate with training, education, and experience and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion. Included with the annual salary, is a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers a wellness program.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • One year or more of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of human resources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external and internal contacts, including presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Exercises good judgment, diplomacy, and perceptual objectivity to make decisions effectively and appropriately. Aptitude to define problems, identify trends, collect data, and establish facts to draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively to implement solutions.
  • Previous experience leveraging a wide array of technologies and communication tools.
  • Experience building productive relationships with internal and external customers.

 

Preferred:

  • HR experience in a higher education setting or similarly complex multi-unit organization.
  • SHRM-CP certification (and/or PHR).
