Long Term Substitute JMG Specialist
MSAD 6 is seeking a dynamic Long Term Substitute JMG Specialist to join its instructional staff at Bonny Eagle High School in Standish, Maine. This assignment will begin on January 15, 2021, and remain in effect until the specialist returns to the classroom (approximately 12 weeks). The successful candidate will work with high school students in a progressive school retention and school-to-work transition program. This full-time position requires a dedicated educator who is confident, a self-starter, and who can work collaboratively with our school partners. As the main part of his/her role, the JMG Specialist will be teaching classes on career preparation, job attainment, and leadership skills. The long-term sub will have a curriculum developed by the JMG Specialist and will have a JMG mentor and manager.
Applicants for this position must have a valid Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) endorsement; demonstrated positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues; and evidence of a strong desire to work with adolescent-age youth. Experience related to the instruction of students of similar age and in the subject area to be assigned is preferred. This position will be filled when a successful candidate has been found.
