High School Teacher of Mathematics
Orono High School–a 370-student school in the university town of Orono, Maine–is seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator to join our learning community at the start of the 2024-25 school year. The ideal candidate has a passion for mathematics as an avenue for empoweringing students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to thrive in an increasingly complex and dynamic world where adaptability, critical thinking, and quantitative literacy are essential for success. This is a full-time position that includes teaching one section of AP Statistics; other course assignments will depend on department needs and candidate strengths. Training in AP Statistics will be provided for the right candidate. Maine educator certification in Mathematics (300) is preferred, but other certified/certifiable candidates with aptitude for subject matter and willingness to pursue mathematics certification will also be considered. RSU 26 will support certification for the right candidate.
